Logistics Facility Site Master Plan`Request for Qualifications RFQ No. LRAQ-002
The Louisville & Jefferson County Riverport Authority (LRA) has launched of a major planning initiative to shape the future of its inland port, railroad, and adjacent properties. Supported by federal planning grant funds secured through Congressman Morgan McGarvey, the LRA is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from consulting firms to create a Logistics Facility Master Plan that will transform the Riverport into a modern, environmentally conscious, multi-modal logistics hub.
The Master Plan will provide a framework for the final design and construction of a new marine terminal, and layout, design and development of rail enhancements and complementary site improvements. This effort is aimed at expanding capacity, improving efficiency, and aligning with best practices in sustainable infrastructure development.
“This planning process represents a critical step in positioning the Riverport to meet the evolving needs of shippers, manufacturers, and our community,” said Miguel A. Zamora II, Executive Vice President of the Louisville & Jefferson County Riverport Authority. “By investing in forward-looking infrastructure, we are strengthening Louisville’s role as a regional logistics leader.”
Once completed, the Logistics Facility Master Plan will guide phased development, identify permitting and regulatory requirements, and establish cost estimates to support long-term capital investments. The Louisville Riverport Authority anticipates that the effort will not only enhance freight movement but also create opportunities for economic growth and job creation across the region.
